Midland State Hockey Championship

These pictures sum up an exciting afternoon of shooting hockey for only the second time in my life, and at the state finals championship game no less! And my humorous attempts at evading the security guards at the Compuware Arena (who were annoyingly competent at their job) and persistently found and kicked me out of the locker room (one attempt) and the hallways near the locker room (6 attempts) even when I hid behind players and the high school team managers loaned me their team jackets so I would look more official. I was finally escorted out the back door and tossed into a group of milling parents which was ironically amazing luck and resulted in finding some storytelling moments.

I think hockey has to be one of the most challenging sports to shoot, the puck is tiny and going a million miles an hour, the players look like piles of body pads with a helmet on skates and facial expressions are hard to get and you're typically shooting from behind glass or if not from a high angle...It's fun though to shoot something you've never shot before. =)
